About the event
At this Soul Talk event, we are joined by activist, environmentalist, zero waste advocate and sustainability graduate. Laura Young, aka Less Waste.Â
Laura's journey into environmentally conscious living began  "because I realised our earth is a Holy resource, gifted to us, which we have been entrusted to care for and thrive in." Join us as we explore caring for the environment as a form of worship and how keeping creation safe and flourishing is a way to glorify God.
With the news of wild fires devistating communities and extreeme weather being widely reported, it is clear creation is not flourishing and we need to take action. We all know that we are in an emergency situation and that the majority world are living with the outcomes of that emergency, daily. What can we do to live well and help redress some serious balance? How can we live environmentally conscious lives, individually and corporately? How is treading gently on our beautiful planet worship to God?
Laura lives an environmentally conscious and as close to zero waste lifestyle as possible, advocating for environmental education around the steps we can all take to tackle the big environmental issues! She has completed a bachelors degree in Geography and Environmental Science from the University of Dundee, and a Masters in Environmental Protection and Management at the University of Edinburgh. Laura currently works for the international development charity, Tearfund, as their Scotland COP26 Advocacy and Campaigns Coordinator.
